Work Board, Place Value... And Hot Air Balloons???
Imagine driving into school on a misty Monday morning and seeing an enormous hot air balloon!! Holy cow! What a surprise! Today was a super busy and productive day! Justin acted as our first morning meeting helper while David took over as math meeting helper! Well done boys! Way to start the week! We learned about the importance of place value a number! How the digit's location (it's place) in a number shows it's value... "PLACE VALUE"! We practiced what we learned and wrote some numbers in expanded form too! Wow! In writing work shop we learned about weekend stories (personal narratives), and began writing our own stories! Our first work board is ready to go! We've learned enough centers and literacy tasks that we are able to work independently on the work board while Ms. W. meets with reading groups! Outstanding! Well... it's a short one tonight... off to the PTO meeting back at school... 6:30! Hope to see you there! PE tomorrow... sneakers please!
