Geometry, Goats, and Mrs. Cialek's Back!!

Howdy Friends! It has been the busiest spring ever for Ms. W. (Graduating her seniors, lacrosse playoffs, and pavilion building, just to name a few...)! Let me catch you up on all the important super cool things we've been doing to foster our learning in second grade! OK.. so, last week we had a visit with the Goat Girls and they introduced us to their very hungry (somewhat tired) vine eating goats! Invasive species like poison ivy are no match for these hungry goats, that's for sure, and they were pretty cute too (with little hats and bananas and all)!! Thanks Sylvia for arranging this farm to table visit! Cali was our math meeting helper last week and she was awesome! We also learned a lot about 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional shapes in our geometry unit! This week Jake started the week sharing his hockey puck collection (cool)! We wrote letters to Ms. Breines, our former kindergarten teacher who will be retiring this year! Nicely done! We also did calendar math today, and Juan was our math meeting helper! Nice work friends! Everyone was thrilled to see Mrs. Cialek back in 2W! She was greeted with a lot of hugs and a lot of love frome every second grader! Welcome back Mrs. C!!
