Welcome back Friends! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Today Ms. Nelms took over the math instruction with one fantastic game: Closest to 20! Students worked with cards, 5 at a time, but could only choose 3 to add together to get as close to 20 as possible! One great cooperative game to work on adding skills, reason with number combinations, turn taking, and keeping score! Thanks Ms. Nelms! We loved it! With the beginning of March we recognized "Women in History" month, and read all about Harriet Tubman and her underground railroad. Niko lead our first morning meeting of the week and David lead his first math meeting! Well done boys! In writing workshop we talked more about "WOW" words and how great word choice can make our writing better! Next, it was on to personal narratives... weekend stories! Thanks to Ms. Nelms for a great math lesson! Everyone had a great day!
